Welcome to the Krabbenhoft Aquatic Ecology Lab homepage! We are located in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University at Buffalo. Our research lies at the intersection of land and water to address how human activities impact freshwater ecosystems. With a focus on biological conservation, much our work occurs in stream and tributary systems as a way to better understand ecosystem dynamics from stream reach to watershed scales. This research could be broadly described as community ecology with a focus on fish and aquatic macroinvertebrates through competition, predation, and the response to outside stressors.
